A Data Science student who learns by building.
Final year, no employer yet, and a shelf of projects that each exist because I wanted to understand something properly.
I'm Basit Abbas, currently pursuing my BS Data Science degree at Superior University Lahore and working toward becoming a strong data and software professional. I enjoy working across data analysis, machine learning, AI applications, backend systems, and modern web development.
My approach is simple: learn a technology, understand the fundamentals, and build something practical with it. Through academic and independent projects I've explored full-stack applications, RAG systems, NLP, AI-powered tools, APIs, databases, and modern web technologies.
That has meant writing a text-preprocessing pipeline and then discovering the hard way why the vectoriser must never see the test split. Building a chatbot and learning that the valuable behaviour is knowing when to say "that isn't in my sources". Structuring a NestJS backend and realising that where state and authorisation live determines how painful everything downstream is.
I'm currently looking for opportunities to gain professional experience, contribute to real-world projects, and continue growing as a developer and data professional.
